Bio
Tony has over 25 years of experience in teaching guitar and performing. He has been a music teacher at Skip’s since 1998. Inspired by classic rock guitarists, Tony signed up at a local music store for guitar lessons at age 13 and has been “hooked” ever since.

Tony has performed in all types of musical situations. He started his professional career at age 16 playing in clubs and showcases with everything from Top 40 and R&B bands to award-winning jazz big bands and combos – among others. He received an “Outstanding Instrumentalist” award at both SSU and Reno Jazz Festivals. Tony has performed with many bands and artists including funk drum legend Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters). Tony has studied music lessons with Randy Vincent (SSU faculty /Bebop andBeyond),Bruce Foreman (Bay Area guitarist), Tuck Andress (Tuck and Patti), and jazz great Joe Pass. Tony is currently working as a freelance musician in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay areas.

Method
When you teach guitar, you give the gift of creation. You’re not just showing people chords and scales; you’re giving them access to their personality. Tony stresses giving his students the tools to become well rounded players. Chord and scale studies,reading music and tab, and learning a variety of styles are all part of guitar music lessons.
