Good functioning and playable condition. Model 3923 dates to 1959 via pot codes on the concentric pots. Guitar/ bass has been refinished in red with scratches revealing the original undercoat. We couldn’t find the control plate or a replacement toggle, the original toggle works with all positions functioning with some extra ‘persuasion’. There is also cracking along the neck joint (stable, nothing to be concerned about), missing logos, paint over strap buttons, things you’d find on a typical refin.

Classic Danelectro vibe with an extra neck! Masonite body, poplar necks with Brazilian rosewood fingerboards, Coke bottle heads, short-horn body. Single Lipstick-tube pickup each neck, concentric volume and tone controls, 3-way toggle activates neck(s). 29.75” scale bass side, 25” scale guitar side. Aluminum nut, stamped tuners, plate/ stud bridge with Brazilian rosewood saddles.

Danelectros were sheer genius for successfully executing the good cheap guitar (pick one) in the golden era of electric guitars. They were built very distinctively in their own way, with a simple approach that just works, and as such are a great addition to the player collection for their proprietary sound.

The guitar has a light action, the frets have a nice sustain on the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The bass has an extremely light feel that predates the Taylor GS Mini Bass; the strings are a light gauge set that has low tension and a light hand-pressure feel.

Tones are bright and clear, the DC resistance is well below 6K, no other pickup sounds like these and is a must have for taking advantage of those tones. Of course you have the guitar and bass collection covered in one instrument!

Great for fans of rare original Danelectros!
