Bio
Andrew has been playing bass professionally for over 25 years. As a member of the British group Candleman Summer he became firmly established on the London live circuit, made numerous TV and radio appearances, and enjoyed a successful career recording and touring extensively.
During his time in the US Andrew has played at several acclaimed music festivals, including the world famous SXSW in Austin and Nadine’s Wild Weekend in San Francisco, and has also shared billing with various national acts such as Berlin, Journey, Peter Frampton, Poe, The Fixx, Oleander, Ronnie Montrose, Dishwalla and Kings X. He demonstrated his diverse bass playing abilities as one of the founding members of Diluvio, whose songs included aspects of Brazilian jazz, Funk, Reggae, and Middle Eastern influences.
He has also written music for well-known poet Joe Montoya with whom he performed regularly throughout the Sacramento Valley. And in the past has played bass for rock singer Larisa Bryski as well as the hard edged trio The Candy Strippers.
Method
Andrew’s method explores the musical interests of the student and is geared towards ensuring their development. He believes that balanced lessons are the key, and that an encouraging atmosphere for learning can be built by teaching the student to enjoy playing.
