Bio
Thomas has been a professional musician for 30 years; he has been a guitar instructor for over 26 years now. Thomas started teaching guitar at Skip’s Music in Sacramento in 1992. After 4 years of teaching at Skip’s Music he moved to Los Angeles to further his music career. While in Los Angeles Thomas maintained a clientele of more than 70 students, Among some of Thomas’s students were Tito Jackson (The Jackson 5), Hayley Kiyoko (Lemonade Mouth, Velma on Scooby Doo Movies) and the children of Eddie Money, and Greg Bissonette to name a few. Many of Thomas’s students have gone on to perform on the famed Sunset Strip in there own bands and have opened for many national acts.
Self taught until the age of 17, Thomas started taking private guitar lessons with local guitar instructors Tommy Leavitt, Greg Williams and local Jazz guitarist Henry Robinette. At the age of 20 Thomas moved to Hollywood to attend Musicians Institute. While attending M.I. he studied with some of the great players of our time including, Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Bruce Bouillet (Racer X, The Scream), Robben Ford, Allen Hinds and Ross Bolton (Al Jarreau, Wayne Brady) to name a few.
Thomas has shared the stage with members from such notable bands as Rick Springfield, Poison, Huey Lewis and the News, Jeff Beck, TOTO and man more. He has also recorded with Greg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Santana) and Matt Bissonette (Joe Satriani, Rick Springfield)
Method
Thomas’s guitar students range from 6 to 67 years of age; he tailors the lessons to fit each individual, as we all do not learn the same. Thomas provides you the tools and techniques to become the musician that you’ve always wanted to be.
