Instructor Biography:  LAUREN GATES

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Pedagogy and a background in the Performing Arts, Lauren Gates is a skilled vocal educator who aims to guide teens and adults to their fullest vocal potential.  Positions she’s held throughout her 20+ year teaching career include:  Musical Theater Instructor, Vocal Instructor, and Director of Performing Arts Camps at VIBE Performing Arts Studio in Valencia, CA, Vocal Director and Vocal Instructor at Cami Curtis Performing Arts Center in Portland, OR, and Musical Director at MYACT (Mountain Youth And Community Theater) in Sonora, CA.  

Lauren is classically trained, but primarily teaches towards popular vocal technique.  With her extensive, scientific knowledge of the vocal mechanism, Lauren approaches vocal training from a kinesthetic perspective geared towards understanding and mastering the physical processes that influence the production of sound.  As well as helping Singers meet their goals, Lauren’s techniques can also help students conquer Public Speaking challenges like nerves, volume, diction, breath management, and vocal fatigue. 

Personally, Lauren most enjoys singing covers and Christian music of all types.  She has been privileged to serve on several Worship teams spanning Gospel, Rock, and Contemporary styles.  As a vocal professional in Sacramento, Lauren has enjoyed entertaining as a Karaoke Host with Corey Entertainment, singing Backup Vocals for local artist, Clemon Charles, and also performing with party hits cover band, Stay Tuned.  She currently serves on the Worship Team at Touchstone Christian Fellowship.
