Bio
Tom has performed and studied music for over 40 years. He has been teaching for over 18 years. He started studying with local piano teachers and later attended Berklee College of Music in Boston studying piano performance, composition and film scoring. He has been a member of bands such as Norton Buffalo and the Knockouts, The Drifters, and The Guess Who. He also has performed with Jeff Watson “Night Ranger,” and Jerry Martini “Sly and the Family Stone.”
He currently plays with Steelin’ Dan, “a tribute to Steely Dan,” and The Parrot Heads,“a tribute to Jimmy Buffet,” as well as a variety of performances accompanying local singers, musicians, and solo piano performances.
Method
Tom believes a well rounded study of music theory, sight reading, improvisation, and repertoire is essential to the growth of a student’s confidence in their musicianship.
