Meet Your Instructor – Josh Ruiz
With over 17 years of drumming experience, Josh Ruiz brings a deep passion for drums, tone, and performance to Skip’s Music. Specializing in metal and hardcore music, Josh has performed with bands including None So Vile, Wineville, Social Class, and These Streets.
Josh is currently part of the Volta Innovations artist roster and was formerly endorsed by Axis Percussion. Over the years, he has studied under members of Rings Of Saturn, Trivium, and Hail The Sun, continually expanding his knowledge and approach to drumming and drum tuning.
In addition to performing, Josh has spent the past year servicing and tuning drums for customers here at Skip’s Music. Through this hands-on experience, he has developed practical techniques for helping drummers get the best possible sound from their kits — whether at home, in rehearsal, or on stage.
Josh is excited to share his tuning process, tips, and real-world experience during this hands-on clinic and help players better understand how to tune and maintain their drums with confidence.
