Beginner and intermediate Classical, Fingerpicking, Folk, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, and vocal accompaniment. Stuart also specializes in songwriting and composition.

Bio

Stuart has been teaching professionally since 1973. His credentials include four years at Sacramento City College and California State University as a music composition major. His teaching experience includes private instruction, group and ensemble lessons, clinics, and instruction in the Sacramento and San Juan School Districts.Stuart has been the musical director for over a dozen local theatrical productions, of which he has received two Elly nominations for Best Musical Director. He is a founding member and the current musical director of California’s Original Theater Company. Stuart has led and performed with numerous groups and has extensive recording studio experience – as both a musician and producer – in Sacramento and Hollywood.

Stuart also composes original musical scores for film and television. He created the original score for the PBS presentation A GIFT OF LIFE which won an EMMY for best short documentary. He is currently musical director/composer for the film production company 4U PRODUCTIONS.

Method

Stuart’s teaching methods stress correct technique and an overall understanding of music theory. His format nurtures creativity, style, and improvisation. He also likes to laugh.
